My name is Rachel Long, and I have a Master of Arts in English and a Graduate Certificate in TESOL from Missouri State University. I want this space to serve as a means of communicating my passion for language, as well as my writing and teaching experience and ideas.

I am ever a learner, so teaching is wonderfully rewarding for me because it offers never-ending learning opportunities. I have about ten years of cumulative experience teaching and tutoring students of diverse backgrounds, ages, skill sets, and learning styles in various subjects. I have taught college writing, adult English as a Second Language (ESL), and reading and writing to kids and teenagers.

Teaching is not the only avenue toward learning, nor is it the only language-related venture I find rewarding. As long as there is something for me to learn (and there always is) and a communicative role I can fill, I’m interested in such experiences. I’ve written, edited, designed, proofed, researched, and created many different kinds of documents for a university, private businesses, and non-profit organizations, and I’m excited about the possibility of having completely new experiences.

I also love to travel and learn about other people, cultures, history, and the arts. I endeavor to have an open mind, open heart, and open communication with all those I come in contact with.
